I have an old film roll and was wondering where to get it converted to a dvd or vhs at?
Like the title says, I have an Eastman Kodak Film roll, Looks like “16mm-1 Row” i found it in my basement and was hoping to get it converted to a dvd or vhs to see what is on it. Any clue on how I go about doing this?
Thanks
Take the 16mm film to a reputable camera store, they should offer a telecine service to transfer the film to DVD.
Some services use an inferior method to do this; transferring the film to dv tape and then transferring again to DVD. This will cause a considerable loss of quality.
telecine services can also be found in your yellow pages, beware some of these are Pro facilities and will be very expensive.
Please bear in mind converting 16mm film to DVD is not cheap, and depending on the amount of film you might consider buying a 16mm projector on ebay and watching it the old fashioned way.
